Rev’s finally deliver a win and the current situation.

After eight grueling weeks and eight long matches the New England Revolution have finally won a game. Last night in Gillette Stadium the Colorado Rapids fell 3-0 to New England who are currently 8-11-2 and in 3rd place in the Eastern Conference. Lee Nguyen (2) and Kelyn Rowe are the heroes who put the ball in the net for the home side. Rowe’s goal was his first of the season and Nguyen scored his 7th and 8th. The Rapids finished the match with only ten men after Juan Guzman issued Thomas Piermayr his second yellow in the 74th minute of the game. Soon after the Revolution increased their lead from 1 to 2 goals and then hit the net for a 3rd goal before the final whistle. Kevin Alston did a fine job filling in for the injured Chris Tierney and Charlie Davis also performed well in his start. Coach Heaps used rookies Mullins and Neumann off the bench as well as veteran Daigo Kobayashi to secure the much needed result.
Next up for NE is their neighbors to the south the New York Red Bulls. The match comes just 3 days after the Colorado match and pits two clubs that are right in the middle of the tightly packed Conference against one another. The match favors the Red Bulls who not only beat New England in the last match but also will be in New Jersey, home of the Red Bulls. The winner could find themselves in a decent position going down the stretch while the loser if there is one could find themselves below the dreaded red line. A place that neither side is comfortable nor accustomed to given the recent success of both sides dating back to the 2013 season.
